Dimapur, Oct. 3 (EMN): Office of the commissioner of police Dimapur has informed through a press note that the Dimapur police and Assam police of Karbi Anglong district conducted a joint operation in the border areas of Dellai and Newfield check-gate on Thursday to connect with the people of the area and check crime.
“While the objective of the joint exercise was to instil confidence among the people of the two states living in these areas, the focus was also to curb the presence and movement of anti-social elements from taking advantage of the porous border. The joint exercise will continue regularly in the coming days to establish peace and a sense of security in the people living in the border areas including daily business commuters and transporters,” read the statement.
It went on to say that the exercise was carried out on the directive of PHQ, Kohima and coordinated by the office of commissioner of police, Dimapur and superintendent of police, Karbi Anglong, Assam.
