DC Tuensang appeals not to panic

Dimapur, May 27 (EMN): Following detection of one Covid-19 positive case in Tuensang on May 27, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant urged the public not to panic.

The DC stated this during an emergency meeting of the district task force in his office conference hall on May 27. He declared that one positive case was detected in Tuensang from among the returnees from Chennai. He, however, urged the public not to panic as it could cause more harm.

Following detection of Covid-19 positive case, general patient of Tuensang District Hospital were shifted to Longpang PHC and Urban Centre Tuensang, a DIPR report stated.

The report also stated that Sao Chang Government College quarantine centre has been declared as containment zone and that every detail protocol should be maintained. The security and management matters in the quarantine centres were also discussed in the meeting.

The house also discussed to report to Kohima that the buses carrying returnees of the Tuensang should be made to leave Kohima in the morning hour with proper food packages since it is a far flung place. It also discussed to segregate the inmates of the JNV Chare to Longkhim in zone-wise.

The house also reviewed various committees in relation to Covid-19 issues and remedies.
