Dimapur, May 23 (EMN): In order to contain the surge in Covid-19 cases in the district, DC and chairman of District Task Force (Covid-19) Phek, Razouzolie Dozo has directed all the villages under Phek district to activate the Village Disaster Management Authority (VDMA) immediately.
An update from DIPR on Sunday informed that the VDMA would include village health workers and other volunteers to assist the government agency in handling and management of dead bodies, monitoring of Covid-19 related cases and coordinating with district and block level task force. It would assist in sealing/cordoning of the house on detection of Covid-19 and unsealing of the house after recovery under the order of the authority. Enforcement of government SOPs and guidelines on Covid-19 in the village, disseminating of necessary information in the village and any other duties responsibilities assigned by the district and block level task force will be carried out by the committee.
The committee will be provided with PPE kit, gloves, mask, sanitiser, body hag, etc. by the Health department through concerned SMO/MO or health workers of the nearest CHC/PMC when needed, it added.
