DC Mokokchung informs on Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme

DIMPAUR — Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji has informed on the revised objectives and application process for the Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme.

According to a DIPR report, the primary objectives of the Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme is to provide financial assistance to patients from Schedule Castes (SC) and Schedule Tribes (ST)  communities suffering from severe  ailments that require costly medical interventions.

This includes surgeries for kidney, heart, liver, cancer, brain and other life-threatening diseases, including organ transplants and spinal surgeries.

To be eligible for the scheme, the family income of the applicant must not exceed INR 3 lakh per annum.

Regarding the application process, an applicant can apply for the scheme either by post by submitting the prescribe application form or, a plain paper application detailing the prescribed pro-forma available on the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation (DAF) website.

To apply, an applicant must gather the necessary documentation and submit the application following the instructions provided on the DAF website.

One must also ensure that all application processes are complete including the required documentation, to avoid delays in processing.
