‘Cyber Jagrookta Diwas’ held at PWC

Police officials along with faculty and students of Pranabananda Women’s College, Dimapur, during the Cyber Jagrookta (awareness) Diwas on Monday.

Dimapur, Nov. 7 (EMN): The Sub-Urban Police Station, Dimapur, in collaboration with women empowerment cell of Pranabananda Women’s College (PWC), Dimapur, organised a ‘Cyber Jagrookta (awareness) Diwas, 2022’ on Monday at the college premises.

The college in an update informed that the objective of the programme was to spread awareness of cyber crime among the students.

Resource person, Asabo Newmai, UBSI, CP office, who delivered a talk on cybercrime, stressed on the benefits of being cyber-hygienic. He advised students not to click the link sent from unknown sources, to activate the two-step verification on social media platforms and not to accept friend requests from unknown persons or from duplicate friend profiles.

He also advised the students to be cautious while installing the different apps on their mobile phones and allowing permission requests from those apps.

Another resource person, UBSI Tsekhumla of Women Police Station, Dimapur, delivered a talk on ‘Crime against women’ and informed that the crime against women has increased by 15% as per NCRB report in 2021.

The students were made aware of the different types of crimes that take place in society and also encouraged to create awareness about crimes against women, it stated.
