Countdown for KVSA meet 2020-cum-launch of KVYO website held

Kohima, Sep. 28 (EMN): The Kohima Village Youth Organisation organised an event to mark the countdown for the 64th Kohima Village Sport Association (KVSA) meet 2020-cum-launching programme of KVYO website at the de Oriental Grand Hotel in Kohima on Saturday, September, 28. The KVSA meet is scheduled to be held from January 6 till the 11th, 2020.

Addressing the programme, Principal Secretary of Power and Information Technology, K D Vizo urged the youth to give equal importance to sports. He also emphasised that the society at present need people that speak the truth.

He further urged the KVYO to be the harbingers of change, as the future belongs to the youth and challenged the youth body to set up a model that would impact the society at large.

Kethosituo Mepfuo gave the essence and 100 days countdown and unveiled the 64th KVSA 2020 Official Mascot.

He said, “The intention of the organising committee was to reflect back on the noble motive of our forefathers in the form of its Mascot- A Stag named Adielo”.

‘Adielo’ is a word from Tenyidie meaning, ‘to forgive one another’ or to not stand up against one another’ or ‘to think for the welfare of one another’.

He also explained the significance of ‘Stag’ and said, “A Stag is a symbol of grace and elegance, one that is not aggressive and is pleasant to look at and also it is a symbol of speed and agility”.

The convenor of the organising committee for 64th KVSA Meet 2020, Medozhatuo Rutsa said that the motive for the meet is to bring oneness among the people, celebrate the talents and invoke the spirit of the “Adielo” to awaken every sportsman and foster unity among the people.
