Kohima, Oct. 11 (EMN):
The government of Nagaland’s Core Committee on Naga Political Issue led by Convenor and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio met with the government of India’s representative for Naga peace talk Akshaya Kumar Mishra and leaders of NSCN (IM) in Delhi on Sunday.

The CM was accompanied by Co-convenor of the Core Committee and Naga People’s Front (NPF) legislature party leader TR Zeliang, and Member Secretary of the committee and Minister for Planning and Coordination, Parliamentary Affairs, Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu, it was informed.

A reliable source informed that the committee members had a meeting with Mishra at Nagaland House, Delhi, in the morning before separately meeting the leaders of NSCN (IM)- Chairman Q Tuccu, General Secretary Th. Muivah and Vice Chariman Tongmat Wangnao on the same day.

During the meeting, the committee was said to have urged the group “to be more practical to bring a solution at the earliest as has been the desire and expectation of Naga people” and pressured the group to “run faster”.

“There may be some differences but it is time to sort out the differences for solution,” it added.

Earlier in September, Mishra had a three-day meeting with several groups including NSCN (IM), Working Committee of Naga National Political Groups (NNPG), as well as the chief minister along with legislators in Nagaland.

He then left for New Delhi to continue the peace talk.

It may be mentioned that a delegation of the NSCN (IM) led by its Ato Kilonser Muivah had left for New Delhi last week for peace talks before the Core Committee on Naga Political Issue led Rio left for the national capital on October 9.
