Contractor’s revelation leaves state police red-faced
Dimapur, Oct. 3 (EMN): Alleging that the state police department was yet to reimburse him against a project completed in 2015, a local contractor has claimed to have evicted police personnel occupying a barrack under said project at VK town in Zunheboto district.
The contractor concerned, Kughaho Assumi, issued a press statement on Tuesday informing that construction of a police barrack at VK police station was completed in October 2015.
“…and police jawans occupied the building but the department failed to clear the bill even after repeated appeal. The contractor approach the High Court and in spite of the court order date 05/05/2017 directing the chief engineer police project to pay the pending bills within three months, till date the payment has not been done.
“Thus the contractor has no option but to evict the occupants and keep the buildings under locked till the payment is cleared,” the statement informed.
