CM’s relief fund being utilised with utmost transparency— Mmhonlumo Kikon

Dimapur, Sep. 15 (EMN): Allaying pre-conceived notions among the public over the possible misuse of the Chief Minister’s relief fund collected from well-wishers in the aftermath the unprecedented natural calamities in the state, Advisor of IT, Science and Technology, New and Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon informed that the fund is being utilised with utmost transparency.
“The state government is trying its best to address the natural disaster caused by unprecedented rainfalls in Nagaland and is thankful to millions of people in the country who stood for Nagaland during the crisis,” said Kikon.

The utilisation of the CM’s relief fund is being carried out with utmost transparency, Kikon said while addressing a gathering of students, faculty and staff at Patkai Christian College on the occasion of its 44th Annual Social of the college on September 15.

Kikon also announced free Wi-Fi installation in the college campus saying that the state government has tied-up with Reliance Jio.
He further urged the students to delve into larger challenges of the state and have a collaborative and cooperative attitude towards those issues. Highlighting on pressing concerns like unemployment, he stressed on the need to focus on a market-driven educational system along with upholding values and morals and pledging towards a better future of the state.

Stating that there are currently 75000 registered unemployed youths in the state, he has suggested educational institutes to design curriculum to enhance skills and produce skilled labours with maximum economic value.

Speaking on the occasion, the college’s principal, Husazu Epao welcomed the new batch of more than 580 students to the state’s premier institute. He informed that the college is the first institute in the Northeast to adopt the technology of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). ERP is an integrated application to streamline all the processes including, administration, attendance, teacher management, inventory and facilities management, transport, generating reports like examination, mark sheets and also helpful in managing database of the students and coordinating with parents.

The principal further informed that the college has introduced a new discipline titled as ‘Communication Studies’ to cater to the needs of job markets in the state and country as a whole.

The course is targeted at enhancing skills of the youth. Careers in all aspects of media, such as journalism, publication, and broadcasting and other areas like public relations, marketing, human resources, corporate training, and event management are accommodated, he said.
