CM’s degree case: Case filed at Guwahati High Court
KOHIMA, AUGUST 18 : Following the verdict of the judicial magistrate (first class) of Peren district in ‘dismissing’ the complaint against the educational qualification of Nagaland’s Chief Minister TR Zeliang on July 29, two of the complainants have filed a Criminal Revision Petition with the Kohima bench of the Gauhati High Court on Thursday.
The case was filed by the counsel of the complainants, senior advocate KN Balgopal, before Justice LS Jamir. Responding to it, the court issued a notice of motion to the respondent, TR Zeliang. It was informed that the matter would be heard again in four weeks time.
The counsel of the respondent did not appear in the court today reportedly as no advance notice was issued to him. It was on July 29 last that the court of the judicial magistrate of Peren set aside the case concerning the contested educational qualification of TR Zeliang on the ground that they were barred by “time limitation.”
