Dimapur, May 23 (EMN): Chief Minister of Nagaland and Chairman of Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Neiphiu Rio on Monday held a review meeting on monsoon preparedness at the chief minister’s residential complex in Kohima.
An update from DIPR stated that the meeting was attended by cabinet ministers, advisors, senior government officials and officials from the departments.
The Chief Minister asked the concerned departments to be prepared with necessary machinery and other essential commodities for any eventuality. He urged all the line departments to give extra efforts and do their job effectively to avert and mitigate the impact of the monsoon.
It said that he also interacted with the deputy commissioners through video conferencing and took stock of the present situation in the districts. Meanwhile, the DCs also shared about the monsoon preparedness and the status of food and other essential commodities in the districts. During the meeting, departments of NSDMA, PWD(R&B), Urban Development and Agriculture made powerpoint presentations.
