Kohima, June 10 (EMN):
With an objective to kill boredom among the returnees sheltered at various quarantine centres, Green Club in Zunheboto district, a local based non-governmental organisation, donated books to quarantine centres on June 10.

Speaking to Eastern Mirror, Tavinto Chishi, president of Green Club Zunheboto said, “It is a humble initiative of Green Club Zunheboto to try and help people quarantined at various centres in Zunheboto town to spend quality time by reading those books.”

Informing that the books were contributed by the club members and well-wishers, he stated that the books were handed over to the security personnel manning the quarantine centres. He also informed that the club officials had visited three centres namely Government Higher Secondary School, town hall and cultural hall. He further informed that the club would also be donating to another centre at Zunheboto Government College on Thursday.

Chishi also informed that the club had engaged the inmates in organising cleanliness drive and other environmental related issues. He further added that the organisation is focussing on providing employment opportunities to those inmates in order to generate income during this period of Covid-19 pandemic.
