Childline 1098’s activities highlighted at DPDB meeting
Dimapur, Aug. 6 (EMN): The monthly meeting of the Peren district planning and development board was conducted on August 6 in the deputy commissioner’s conference hall in Peren. The meeting was presided over by vice chairman of the DPDB, Sentiwapang Aier, updates stated.
The government publicity agency, the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR), issued on Tuesday updates to the media.
Sentiwapang Aier, also deputy commissioner of the district, reviewed the minutes of the board’s previous meeting, the IPR stated. Matters relating to the district awards were also discussed. He was stated to have directed the departments to send their proposals.
Peren district’s Childline 1098 gave a presentation highlighting its activities in tracing and ‘restoration’ of missing children; emotional support and guidance services; medical assistance; linking children to shelter services; protection of children from abuse; providing assistance in availing sponsorship; reporting of missing children and providing information about Childline and volunteering.
Members of Childline stated that it plays a role in collaboration with the police departments, administrations, Education department, and municipal council and wards, the updates stated.
The deputy commissioner of Peren requested all the heads of offices to be in station and to attend DPDB meetings.
The officer also talked about a cleanliness activity that is scheduled for August 9. He was stated to have requested all the heads of offices in the district to ‘sincerely carry out their respective works as per the work distribution,’ the IPR added.
