Dimapur, May 5 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has mourned the demise of Akruzo Putsiire, President of the Nagaland Flowers Growers’ Association, Kohima, who passed away on Tuesday.
Describing Akruzo as a gifted, hardworking and an enterprising woman, Rio said she served the state government in the capacity of administrative assistant for some years before “her interest and love for flowers took her to greater heights”.
“She had supervised the flower plantations at the new Secretariat Complex amongst a host of similar initiatives and the pursuit of her passion remained consistent till the last,” read the condolence message.
“Besides her work and other interest, she was a caring, God fearing and a loving wife, mother and a grandmother. Though it is not easy to accept her absence from our lives, may we celebrate her life and always remember and honour her selfless deeds and kind-heartedness,” it added.
He said that her demise was a personal loss for him and his family, adding that late husband Norman Putsiire was his best man on his wedding day. “Our parents were family friends and we shared close bonds since our young days. I deeply value our relationship with their family and will always cherish the memorable times over the past years,” he wrote.
“In this hour of mourning, I, along with my wife and family members extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. It is my humble prayer that Almighty God will give them strength and courage to hear the irreparable loss. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
