Chairman of National Commission for Safai Karamcharis to visit Nagaland
Kohima, Oct. 9 (EMN): The chairman of National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, M Venkatesan, will be arriving in Dimapur on Monday morning to review the implementation of “The Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavenger and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013″.
Venkatesan, who is currently in Manipur, is scheduled to inspect Karamchari colonies and interact with Safai Karamcharis (sanitation workers) upon arrival in Dimapur, as per preliminary arrangement.
He will later proceed to meet the district administration and other government officials responsible for the implementation of the Act.
The chairman will also meet employees and their association leaders to discuss their grievances and implementation of National Safai Karamcharis Finance and Development Corporation (NSKFDC) schemes and Prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavengers and Rehabilitation (MS) Act 2013.
He is expected to meet the governor and Chief Minister of the state in Kohima on Tuesday morning before meeting the district administration, the commissioner, secretary and director of Nagaland State Social Welfare Board (NSSWB), MD and GM of Nagaland Industrial Development Corporation Limited, CMD of Nagaland State Co-operative Bank, MD/GM of Nagaland Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (NHHDCL), members of State Level Monitoring Committee of MS Act 2013 and leaders of Safai Karamcharis in the state.
