DIMAPUR — A three-day fathers’ camp 2023 of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers Hiil, Kohima (CBCMHK) concluded on Sunday at John Government Higher Secondary School hostel in Viswema under Kohima district.

Speaking at the fourth gospel service of the camp on the topic “As for me and my household we will serve the Lord” (Luke 24: 14), CBCMHK associate pastor, Thujoneyi Veswu, stated that God has given big responsibilities to fathers to take care of their families. He asked the participants to take care of their families with love and commitment.

Stating that running after an earthly wealth could lead to detachment from Christ, he called upon the fathers to put their trust in God saying that He will provide everything they need. He also reminded the words of Joshua, “As for me and my household we will serve the Lord.” As Joshua stood firm though many people decided to turn away from God, Veswu appealed to the fathers to uphold Joshua’s integrity.

During the session II on the topic “Importance of healthcare,” Dr. Vinotsole Hiese stressed on the need to maintain health conscious by conducting regular check-up. She stated that regular exercise is good in order to stay physically fit.

As most deaths among young people are related to alcohol and tobacco, she urged upon all the fathers to quit smoking, consuming of alcohol and tobacco.

Medical check-up was also conducted by Dr. Vinotsole Hiese and her team where the entire campers including officials, prayer group and cooks were treated free of cost. Medicines were provided free cost to all the members.

A press release issued by the camp media coordinator, Kuzhovesa Soho, stated that a total of 170 campers including officials, prayer group and cooks attended the three-day camp.

As an outcome of the camp, it stated many campers, especially young fathers, came forward for new baptism, restoration of names, opted to live a new life in the family and resolved to live responsible life.

It informed that the church would soon provide baptism classes and administer baptism.

The men fellowship department of the CBCMHK has expressed gratitude to all the fathers who came forward and made the camp a meaningful venture. The department conveyed gratitude to the church for the support throughout the camp.
