CAGSA 50th meet: Phüsachodü to play against Thenyizu for football championship

Phüsachodü, Feb. 8 (EMN): Host team Phüsachodü will take on Thenyizu for the men’s football championship on Tuesday.

 The ongoing 50th meet of Chokri Area Games and Sports Association (CAGSA) at Phüsachodü village under Phek district that will culminate on February 9.

Playing the semi-final match on Monday afternoon, Thenyizu defeated Thipuzu with a scoreline of 6-0.

Earlier in the morning, host team Phüsachodü played against Rukizu wherein both teams scored a goal each and failedto break the deadlock despite extra time, and the winner had to be decided through penalty shootout, which went in favour of Phüsachodü.

Meanwhile in women’s football, host team Phüsachodü defeated Kikruma 4-0. Zuniekholu Khamo scored a hat-trick and added another goal which proved decisive for the team to emerge victorious, booking a berth for the team to play the final match on Tuesday.

In yet another match, Thenyizu team defeated Khulazu Bawe by 2-0 scored by Shodulü Swiho and Khrukhosalü Dawhuo.

Thenyizu and Phüsachodü will vie for the football championship both in men and women’s category.

Basketball

In women’s basketball final, Chetheba defeated Kikruma with 20-12 points to lift the women’s basketball championship of the Jubilee edition.

While, in men’s basketball, Thenyizu defeated Rukizu in the second semi-final match with scoreline of 42-41, after a tough and thrilling encounter.

Now, men’s basketball championship will be played between Chetheba and Thenyizu on Tuesday.

Volleyball

Meanwhile, Phüsachodü women defeated Chetheba to lift the women’s volleyball championship.

In the men’s volleyball semi-final match, Thenyizu defeated Khulazu Bawe with 25/11 and 25/15. Thenyizu will take on Chetheba in the finals.
