Dimapur, Nov. 8 (EMN): Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP), a national socio-cultural organisation, organised a state-level Bharat Ko Jano (BKJ) quiz competition and national group song competition (NGSC) at Rotary Club auditorium in Dimapur on November 6.

An update from BVP informed that a total of 60 students from 10 schools participated in the competition. It stated that the selected groups would participate at the regional-level competition scheduled on November 13 in Dimapur. It added that the qualified group would compete at the national-level to be held at Rajasthan in the last week of December.

Dr. Amos Longkumer, managing director of Health Nursing College, and Tikaram Dhakal, social worker, graced the programme as the special guests and addressed the gathering.

Dr. Dalia Bhattacharjee from SD Jain Girls’ College was the guest speaker, while the other speakers included Pankaj Sinha, coordinator of Vidya Bharati; Advocate YP Gupta, president of BVP; Santu Thapa, president of BVP Kohima; Bishnu Bhattacharjee, regional joint general secretary of North East Region; and Juel Acharjee, coordinator of the competition. 

Winners of BKJ quiz competition under category A are Vidya Bhawan Higher Secondary School and Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School, while the winners in category B are Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School and SD Jain Higher Secondary School.

Winners of the group song competition are Gamadi Vidya Bharati School and Ram Janaki Hr Sec School.

On the occasion, BVP North East Cultural Forum also conferred ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ to Sabita Acharjee, senior citizen of Dimapur, for her service in the field of music and culture in Dimapur for the last four decades. BVP also awarded Sonali Lodh in recognition of her talent, who participated at ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ on August 15 to commemorate the 75th years of Indian Independence.
