Book corner: Book on pastoral counselling released

Dimapur, Aug. 27 (EMN): A book titled Pastoral Care and counselling: Indigenous Perspective authored by Rev. Dr. Ezamo Murry was launched by Rev. J Thungjamo Lotha, teaching missionary at One Challenge International. The book was released on August 24 at Tourist Lodge in Dimapur, a press release from Heritage Publishing House in Dimapur stated.

In his remarks on the book, Rev.Dr. Phanenmo Kath, professor of counselling, said the book gives a new direction in pastoral care and counselling which is relevant and contextual.

“The author draws his insights from the experiences he has had from various areas of ministry: teaching in school, pastoring a church and teaching in theological seminaries and engaging in translation works,” the press release stated.

The book is intended to be used as a basic text book on the discipline of pastoral care and counselling for which reason some of the theoretical assumptions in the subject are introduced, especially the elementary pastoral are and the psychotherapeutic tradition.

The book is published by Heritage Publishing House in Dimapur. The book is priced at INR 250, the updates stated.
