Dimapur, Dec. 16 (EMN): Minister of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Jacob Zhimomi , on Friday kicked off the two-day open football penalty shootout tournament organised by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) 4 Ghaspani-1, at Diphupar local ground, Chumoukedima.

The organisers informed that 90 teams from four districts including Peren, Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland will compete in the tournament.

Meanwhile, they informed that the champions will receive a cash prize of INR 30,000, INR 15,000 for second prize and INR 5,000 for third prize, and for individual prize, the best goalkeeper will receive a cash prize of INR 3000.

Speaking during the inaugural programme, Zhimomi encouraged the players to maintain good sportsmanship. He also encouraged the players to continue to maintain consistency in the objective that they have to take sports as a profession.

He stated that the government of India is giving huge priority in the sporting sector, and has introduced various schemes which will assist, promote and propel the sportsmanship spirit in the youth force today.

He also asserted that their conviction and spirit to pursue sports as their career will definitely produce good results and therefore encouraged them to pursue it with confidence in any form of games.
