MOKOKCHUNG, JUNE 24: The BJP’s National Secretary-Minority in-charge and Nagaland in-charge, Farooq Khan, on Friday called upon the party’s workers to take the opportunity of ‘strong party setup at the centre’ to achieve the dream of forming a ‘BJP government in Nagaland.’
The BJP leader was addressing the second executive committee of the BJP Nagaland unit in Mokokchung on Friday. He asserted that “nothing happens in politic without contacts. Politics is all about the game of contacts.”
If Nagaland’s BJP unit were to embark on a mission to form a BJP government in the state, he said, the party must ensure a strong ‘booth committee’ at the grassroots.
“If we have a strong booth level then we might able add up any numbers of muscles to the senior’s leaders but without booth level worker we just nothing” the BJP leader said.
Khan explained that the party’s leadership at the ‘national level’, especially the president Amit Shah, had given various guidelines to activate the booth level committees.
Khan also suggested organizing events and programmes such as sports tournaments, cleanliness drives under the Swachh Bharat Mission or sanitizing the people in availing benefits from schemes launched by the NDA government etc at the mandal and district levels to activate ‘booth level’ workers.
“If you take one step, Delhi will be taking four steps. But the first step should come from you (Nagaland BJP),” Khan said.
The BJP leader also reminded that if the party were to miss ‘the historical opportunity in 2018,’ the party would be ‘forgotten in the annals of history in Nagaland.’ However, if were to rise to the occasion, he said, ‘history will be made and new chapter of progress and prosperity for Nagaland will start.’
The proud Nagas will not sell their votes in 2018 state elections, he claimed. Every worker in the party, right from the booth level worker to the state in-charge must work wholeheartedly with dedication and ‘honesty’ to see that the dream for a BJP government in the state comes true in 2018.
