BJP demands resignation of Arunachal Home Minister

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP today demanded resignation of Home Minister from his post in view of deteriorating law and order situation in Tirap district and the state as a whole.
The Opposition party urged the Congress ruled state government to look after law and order situation of the state considering recent killings of two innocent civilians in a gun battle between NSCN and security forces at Holaam village under Khonsa circle in Tirap district of the state on January 2 last, BJP spokesperson Wangman Lowangcha said in a release here.The party further demanded for setting up an inquiry committee headed by Home Minister, who himself Chief Minister to assess the firing incident, enhancement of compensation from Rs 4 lakhs to Rs 10 lakhs for the diseased persons and Rs 1 lakh to Rs. 5 lakhs for injured person and a suitable government job for the injured woman.
The BJP appealed to the chief minister for paying a visit to the incident site to verify and to assess the ground reality of the situation, the spokesperson added.
It might be mentioned here that 4 persons – 2 NSCN (IM) and 2 villagers were killed while, a woman was seriously injured in the cross firing incident in Holaam village. The villagers were identified as Panjam Wangsu and Ranpakh Wangsu, father and son respectively.
However, Panjam’s wife had received bullet injuries in her right leg. Now she is undergoing treatment in a hospital.
