Mokokchung, MAY 1 (EMN): Parliamentary Secretary of CAWD and Taxes, Dr Benjongliba Aier inaugurated a new building of Government High School Alongtaki on Monday. The school was first established in 1945 before the Indian Independence as Alongtaki Upper Primary School where the father of the Parliamentary Secretary late JN Aier served as the first headmaster of the school. Earlier during the day, the Parliamentary Secretary along with his lady wife graced the Moatsu celebrations at Lakhuni as the chief guest, which was attended by the village councils of Longsemdang, Changdang, Nokpu, Saring, Chungtiayimsem and Yajang C villages.
On behalf of the people of Japukong range, the chief guest expressed gratitude to Lakhuni village for their generosity, support and participation in establishing the first Upper Primary School in 1945. He also called upon the people of the range to remain united as in the time of the forefathers.
He said the present NPF government, mandated by the people, is trying its best to deliver goods to the people despite all challenges posed by the centre government.
President of Japukong Senso Senden, village council chairmen of Longsemdang, Changdang and Chungtiayimsem also spoke on the occasion. The Parliamentary Secretary and lady wife were accompanied by a large number of party workers, elders and officials from different departments.
