Dimapur, April 15 (EMN): Following intervention and request made by the Angami Public Organisation (APO) and with the hope that the government would render its best effort in the fight against Covid-19 in the state capital, the Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) has decided to call off the proposed total lockdown in Kohima.

With the second-phase of the nationwide lockdown, which has been extended from April 15 to May 3, AYO expressed confidence that the state government would positively respond to the need of the hour by taking all preventive and safety measures.

AYO, in a press release issued by its president Kekhrie Pfukha and vice president Neidilhoutuo Sechü, clarified that its intention to impose the total lockdown was for the larger interest of the people and solely to strengthen the directives laid down by the government. AYO has reiterated its readiness to extent its services for the well being of the people.

AYO further appealed to all sections of the society to join hands in the fight against the deadly virus.
