ATM robbery accused arrested

The police have arrested an individual, one Dzuvileto Natso, accused of robbing an ATM in Kohima.

Dimapur, Jan. 14 (EMN): The police have arrested an individual accused of vandalising and robbing an ATM on the night of January 12 at the High School junction in Kohima. The police said to have recovered about INR 31,30,500 following investigations.     

The PRO for Kohima police issued a press release to the media on Tuesday giving updates.

“On the night of 12/01/2020, an ATM booth of Axis Bank located at High School junction opposite Vishal Mart, Kohima was vandalised and cash inside the ATM booth was looted by unknown miscreant,” the press release stated.

“Immediately, on receipt of information, Kohima Police swung into action and investigation was undertaken in order to arrest the miscreant and recover the stolen cash.”

An investigation team led by M Yambemo Humtsoe, Kohima subdivision police officer for north, arrested one Dzuvileto Natso, 29, who the press release stated was working as a custodian of cash management services or CMS.

‘Later in the course of investigation, the stolen cash amounting to INR 21,14,000 was recovered from the basement of a residential complex at Razhü Point, where the arrested person was residing. In connection with the instant case, the police had earlier recovered an amount of INR 10,16,500 from the place of occurrence which was left behind by the accused, making the total cash recovery to an amount of INR 31,30,500,’ the police stated. 

The police said further investigations are on.
