Assam’s Team Supernova lift 2nd Sovima T-20 Cricket Gold Cup

Dimapur, March 10 (EMN): Assam’s Team Supernova defeated Nagaland’s Dazzling Boyz to lift the 2nd Sovima T-20 Cricket Gold Cup at the Nagaland cricket stadium in Sovima on Tuesday.

Dazzling Boyz won the toss and elected to bat first, but a quick and efficient bowling attack from Team Supernova reduced Dazzling Boyz to a score of 111 runs, all out, in 18.4 over.

Chasing the target of 112, Supernova chased down the target with ease, finishing the match with a total of 115 in 17.5 over and six wickets in hand.

Puchu Dey of Dimapur Royals was adjudged as the best wicketkeeper while Imliwati, also of Dimapur Royals, was adjudged the ‘best bowler’. Abdul Aziz bagged the ‘man of the match’ title for his outstanding performance in bowling taking four wickets in four over and conceding just 21 runs in the final match. Hokaito Zhimomi of Dazzling Boyz bagged the ‘best batsman’ title. All four of them received an amount of INR 15000 each, along with certificates.

The captain of Supernova Swarapum Purkaustha bagged the ultimate prize of ‘Man of the Tournament’ and received INR 25000 along with certificate.

The winning team, Supernova, was awarded a sum of INR 150000 with an additional amount of INR 8500 from Abu Metha, the advisor to the chief minister of Nagaland, who also attended the final match. Runner’s up, Dazzling Boyz CC received a sum of INR 100000.
