Assam police recovers drugs worth INR 5.5 crore

Diphu, April 25 (EMN): Karbi Anglong police on Sunday recovered 910 gram of suspected heroin worth INR 5.5 crore at international market and and arrested one person in the connection.

According to police sources, 70 numbers of soap boxes containing suspected heroin were recovered from one Tata Safari bearing registration No. AS-01ET-0910 during naka checking under Dillai police station at around 5:30 pm on Sunday. It stated that consignments were concealed in a secret chambers.

In this regard, police have arrested one Majid Ali of Lilong village under Lilong Police Station in Manipur.

The drugs were suspected to have been smuggled from Myanmar through Manipur.
