Arkong Ward wins Mokokchung Inter-ward Football Tournament
Dimapur, March 30 (EMN): Arkong Ward lifted the 1st Mokokchung Inter-ward Football Tournament after beating Artang Ward 1-0 on Sat. March 30 at the Imkongmeren Sports Complex.
The winner walked home with a cash prize of INR 50,000 along with the trophy and the runners-up received INR 30,000 with certificates.
Artang Ward started better than their opponent and had a couple of chances early in the first half. Despite the domination the match ended goalless at the first 45 minute.
In the second half, Artang were even more lethal in attacking, but the team could not manage to breach the defence of Arkong Ward.
Despite numerous attempts made by the forward of Artang , the team could not manage to score.
In addition of extra 20 minutes, Longshin from Arkong Ward netted a goal with a splendour headed from inside the T box which finally ended the match with the scoreline at 1-0 in favour of Arkong Ward.

There were four highest scorer of the tournament, each with four goals, namely Temsutoshi (Arkong), Arennungsang (Lijabalijen), Limasungkum (Tongdentsuyong), and Imnatoshi (Mongsenbai).
