AR dedicates waiting shed; organises painting contest

A six year-old girl child Pouram inaugurates a waiting shed at New Ngaulong village.

Dimapur, Dec. 3 (EMN) : The Jalukie battalion of Assam Rifles dedicated a waiting shed at New Ngaulong village in Peren district, which has been a long standing requirement of the villagers.

A defence release stated that the waiting shed would assist the villagers and commuters in the area. It stated that security forces had asked Pouram, a 6 year-old girl child, to inaugurate the waiting shed.

In expressing gratitude, the villagers have arranged a cultural programme. Villagers in huge numbers including village authorities and members of the church attended the inauguration ceremony.

In a separate programme, the Tuensang battalion of Assam Rifles organised a painting competition at Wangti COB on December 2 in which children of Wangti, Langshai Wangti and New Langshai Wangti villages participated with great enthusiasm.

It stated that the event was attended by more than 70 children. The participants were also given gifts to encourage their participation.
