Dimapur, March 29 (EMN): In a run-up to its golden jubilee celebration scheduled on April 8 at Khouchiezie (Kohima local ground), the organising committee of the Angami Public Organisation (APO) held a coordination meeting on Tuesday at its office conference hall. The celebration would be held on the theme “Angamimia Therhu.”
A release issued by the organising committee publicity secretary, Zhakie Khate, informed that Tuesday’s meeting was held between the organising committee and different committees. He informed that around 20,000 Angami people are expected to participate in the event in full traditional gear. He also informed that every Angami family has contributed INR 50 for the occasion.
In a separate statement, the information and publicity secretary of Angami Students’ Union (ASU), Kevimechie Tsukru, stated that the jubilee would be celebrated to foster brotherhood among the community and also exhibit Angami folk songs, dramas and other talents.
He added that the entire Angami people would feast together the food prepared from one hearth. It further requested all the Angami community to attend the celebration.
In another statement, the Angami Gazetted Officers’ Krotho (AGOK) has requested all its members to attend the ensuing APO golden jubilee celebration with proper and appropriate outfit along with traditional touch for the occasion.
It further requested all “Kicha” (presidents/ secretaries) to mobilise their respective members and attend the celebration.
