Dimapur, Oct. 25 (EMN): The Ao Senso Telongjem, Kiphire celebrated Golden Jubilee on the theme “Re-awake” at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire on October 24 with the deputy commissioner, Sarita Yadav, as the guest of honour.
Speaking at the event, Sarita said that the Ao Senso Telongjem Kiphire is a leading example in various fields and called upon the union to continue its work for the improvement of the Ao community as well as for Kiphire district.
Dr. N Moa Jamir, who also addressed the gathering, stated that during the past 50 years, the pioneers of the union had worked hard in different parts of Nagaland in various fields like education, religion and even in the political movement. He encouraged the participants to follow their footsteps and also urged them to preserve the rich cultural practices as well as work hard by leading an exemplary life.
Jamir stated that parents should play an important role in the family by giving proper guidance and support to the children. He also called upon the youngsters not to focus only on government sector jobs but take up entrepreneurship for their livelihood.
The guest of honour released a souvenir at the programme.
