Another employee at Nagaland Raj Bhavan tests Covid-19 positive

Kohima, Aug. 5 (EMN): Another employee at Nagaland Raj Bhavan in Kohima tested positive for Covid-19, taking the total cases from the Raj Bhavan to two so far.

The first case was detected on August 3.

A source informed that both the patients have been admitted to Covid care centre at Meriema. It was also informed that the tests were done from BSL-3 laboratory at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) Covid-19 hospital.

Nagaland Governor RN Ravi also took to social media to announce the detection of the virus from among two of Raj Bhavan staff.

The deputy commissioner of Kohima, Thejawelie Gregory, has also issued a notification informing that in view of the detection of a Covid-19 positive person, the Security Barrack at Raj Bhavan, Officers Hill colony, has been demarcated as sealed area in order to contain the spread of the infection and for necessary contact tracing.

All movements of people or vehicles within the sealed area are strictly restricted and under active surveillance with immediate effect, the order added.

The minister of Health and Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom, tweeted that five out of the 94 new Covid-19 positive cases detected in the state on Wednesday were from Kohima.
