Wokha, July 8 (EMN): A one day angling competition was organised by Humtso Village Youth Organisation (HVYO) at Mhonkao Murry & Family Fishery Titaphen, Mt. Tiyi College Colony which was graced by former legislator of Nagaland, Dr. Chumben Murry as the chief guest on Saturday.
The chief guest in his short speech expressed angling as a good sport which is a part of leisure and recreation where family and friends spends quality time that strengthens unity.

Meanwhile he added that through this event, it helps to promoting one another by availing the facilities and resources where everyone need to attach and work together and build up the society.
GP’s of Humtso Village attended the function with 38 A/C parent body and youth wings DPP who accompanied the chief guest. Around 70 anglers vied for the event where K. Bipenthung was adjudged the winner and was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-, Lichamo walked away with Rs. 7000/- for second place and single biggest catch went to Tsenchibemo (394 grams) and received Rs. 3000/-.
The competition started from 8am till 4pm (evening), where the anglers were allowed to use only two rods with a registration fee of Rs. 500/-
The programme started with a short inaugural function where an invocation prayer was done by Chumbeno Kithan, Youth Cum CNY Director HBC, followed by welcome address from Yisabemo Humtsoe, HVYO president and vote of thanks was pronounced by Longshithung Yanthan, HVYO finance secretary.
The HVYO general secretary Achamo R. Humtose in a press communiqué extended his heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest, DPP party dignitaries, anglers and well wishers for their massive support in making the event a successful one.
