AND&DGDU celebrates silver jubilee

State Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy, releasing the souvenir of All Nagaland Directorate & District Government Drivers’ Union on the occasion of its silver jubilee celebration.

Dimapur, June 26 (EMN): All Nagaland Directorate & District Government Drivers’ Union (AND&DGDU) celebrated its silver jubilee (1994-2019) on June 22 at the State Academic Hall, Kohima, with the State Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy, as the special guest and Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, Anoop Khinchi, as the special invitee. The union first chairman Beilie Miacheio also attended the celebration.

Speaking at occasion, Temjen Toy said jubilee is a milestone achievement to which everyone looked forward to with much anticipation. He also stated that behind successful celebration there are people who undergo great difficulty. In this regard, he thanked the planning committee members for making the celebration a grand success.

The special guest pointed out that most people in Nagaland looked for government jobs but do not attend the office regularly after they are appointed in government sector. He called upon the government servants to work with full dedication and commitment.

Pointing out the role of drivers, he stated that they not only drive a car but also become close companion of the officers.

The jubilee celebration began with a prayer by Rev. Iringtie Kauring, pastor of Zeme Baptist Church, Kohima, followed by a welcome address by Neivisietuo Rino. A song was presented by members of All Nagaland Drivers and Body Guard Prayer Fellowship, followed by release of its souvenir by the special guest.

Jubilee planning committee report was presented by its convenor Imtikumba Longkumer, while the special invitee also exhorted the members. Yeichulhoulie & party also present a song, while the vote thanks was said by its advisor Temen Changkiri and concluded with a benediction by Rev Iringtie Kauring. The programme was chaired by its president CK Longchar.
