Dimapur, March 30 (EMN): All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) has resented the lackadaisical attitude of the Kohima district administration towards the settlement of Kohima Science College (Autonomous) Jotsoma land issue.

ANCSU general secretary, Vimeyiekho Vitso, and the president, Katho P Awomi, stated that after repeated appeals to the state government for necessary action in regard to the decade-long land issue at Kohima Science College, the latter had directed the district administration on October 24, 2018, to initiate identification and removal of illegal encroachment as per an RTI reply from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

It, however, regretted that despite the directive, the district administration had miserably failed to acknowledge the directive from the CMO and also failed to understand the gravity of the issue.

The union also alleged that the back-handed commitment of the district administration had encouraged some private parties to openly undertake concrete constructions inside the college campus at present.

In the light of the above stated circumstances, the union questioned the sincerity of the district administration and further warned that in the event of any further encroachment or jeopardising the students’ community through the land issue, the district administration would be held accountable.

Terming it as the last appeal, the union urged the state government to take serious note about the insincerity of the district administration.
