A P. T. I. report from Mumbai (30.07.2017) quoted from the Union Transport Minister Mr. Nitish Gadkari as saying that all roads in the country would be converted to cement concrete “to ensure stability and durability”.
I hope the Minister had in mind the Northeast particularly Nagaland where roads need urgent attention too. The hilly terrain of Nagaland is such that it needs no great engineering skills or training to make drain water run smoothly along side the road. The foot hill areas may have their own problems. It appears they need some political push to repair their roads and drains.
