All Nagaland College Students’ Union announces 20th Biennial General Conference

The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) on Saturday announced that its 20th Biennial General Conference with the theme “Heralding Tomorrow” will be held on October 22 and the 23rd at Kohima Science College (Autonomous), Jotsoma.

This was informed during a press conference addressed by ANCSU President Vimeyiekho Vitso and other officials at its office.

Vitso said that it organises general conference every two year and a new team is elected during the occasion to lead the union. He informed that only five delegates each from about 40 colleges will be invited to the event though the Covid situation has improved.

About 300 delegates are expected to attend the event, it was informed.

Stressing on the importance of college life, ANCSU president said that the union is endowed with the responsibility of nurturing the youths so that they become the assets of the society. He expressed hope that the event will not only be a gathering of students but an educative one.

In the four-session conference, Nagaland College Principals’ Association (NPCA) will be the introductory guest and its president Dr. Visakhonu Hibo will address the introductory session on October 22 evening.

Minister for Higher Education and Tribal Affairs, Temjen Imna Along is scheduled to attend the inaugural session on October 23 morning as the inaugural guest, while Joint Chief Executive Officer of State Disaster Management Authority, Home Department, Johnny Ruangmei will be the guest for the academic session to be held in the evening.

Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC), Y Kikheto Sema will be the valedictory guest, it was informed.

A new team of ANCSU for the tenure 2021-2023 will also be elected during the conference. It was informed that an election commission had been constituted and the notification regarding the code of conduct is expected early next week.
