Diphu, Aug. 22 (EMN):
The first All Assam Deputy Commissioner’s conference is underway at Arboretum-cum-Craft Centre, Mapitung in Diphu. It is a two-day-long conference, which commenced from Sunday.

The meeting is hosting DCs of 33 districts in Assam including Commissioner and Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Commissioners of various departments.

Informing journalists after the end of first session, which ended late in the afternoon, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “After the formation of the new government, this is the first meeting with the DCs of various districts of Assam. Earlier a meeting with all SPs was convened at Kaziranga. In the next conference, it will be with the DCs and SPs together”.

CM also said, “Every six months there will be three meetings, the first with SPs, second with DCs and third will be a joint conference. We are planning to hold the conference outside Guwahati. We will be sitting together to discuss various developmental aspects of Assam. From Delhi the Mission Director for Jal Jivan Mission has given a presentation on Jal Jeevan Mission and we will try to follow the forum”.

The topics discussed on Sunday were on administration and Jal Jivan Mission and others. MLA Bidyasing Engleng, who participated in the discussion session, said proper discussion was taken up on the administrative system of the government. ‘The British administrative system has to be abolished with new rules and laws to be enforced so that the public does not face any harassment and developmental schemes are easily reached to them’, he said.

Earlier, Sarma inaugurated the Additional Director of Industry and Commerce Office. During the inaugural CEM of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang felicitated the CM with Karbi Poho, Jacket, Jamborong and jambili Athon (Karbi Totem) as a mark of love and respect.
