Dimapur, Dec. 3 (EMN): By managing to devour a huge ethnic Naga meal in 13.57 minutes, Akhar emerged winner of the first ever ‘Naga Thali Challenge’ eating competition held at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, 6th Mile in Sovima village, Chümoukedima, on Saturday.

The event was organised by Native Trax Society (NTS), in collaboration with NBDA and Tourism department, as part of the Hornbill Festival on the theme “theme ‘Dangerously Delicious.” The event is also supported by TaFMA, Techno Music India, Cinescope, Red box, Loreni Wardrobe, Myriad Branding (branding partner) and Hills FM (radio partner).

The event witnessed eight contestants pitted against one another in their bid to finish a huge ethnic Naga meal, wherein Akhar emerged the winner. He was awarded a cash prize of INR 10,000.

The Naga Thali Challenge was followed by a Cosplay contest, in collaboration with Dimapur Anime Guild, in which Rongsen was adjudged as the winner and awarded a cash prize of INR 15,000.

It was informed that Native Trax Society would continue to organise the ‘Naga Gala’ from December 3 to the 10th as part of the Hornbill Festival at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre.
