Air Squadron NCC training underway
Dimapur, July 18 (EMN): A ten-day annual training camp organised by No. 1 Nagaland Air Squadron NCC, Dimapur, under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters, Kohima, began on July 17 at Pilgrim Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
A defence release stated that a total 282 NCC cadets from various schools and colleges of Nagaland are taking part in the camp. Camp Commandant Wing Commander, Ganesh Sawant, inaugurated the camp and interacted with the cadets.
Speaking on the occasion, the Camp Commandant emphasised on the motto of the NCC ‘Unity and Discipline.’ He stated that the aim of the camp is not only to impart collective training to the cadets but also provide opportunity to experience community living, develop team spirit and knowledge on military subjects.
He also advised the cadets to be a good citizen and contribute in nation building. He further called upon the cadets to utilise the opportunity to explore various career options so as to choose the one which suits them best.
During the camp, training on weapon and firing, aero modelling, flying, national integration, importance of health education, games and sports, first aid, fire fighting etc., would be imparted.
