AIFF to organise refresher course for coaches
Imphal, June 17 (EMN): As part of the revalidation process for coaches in North-eastern states, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) will be organising an online refresher course for coaches with C License certificate from June 21.
Confirming to Eastern Mirror, the general secretary of All Manipur Football Association (AMFA), L Jyotirmoy stated that the online refresher course for coaches is set to begin in the eight NE states.
“The registered coaches will be eligible for the course,” says Jyotirmoy. “The coaches will be divided into a batch of 30 each with four sessions being conducted for these batches from Monday onwards”.
The final schedule along with the batch wise distribution of the coaches of the eight NE states is expected to be announced within a day or two, he said.
The sessions are to be conducted on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 7.30 am to 9 am. The course is set to begin with the NE and central zone batches, it added. It can be noted that every candidate that attends the course will be awarded two CPD points.
According to official website of AIFF, the refresher course is to be conducted by AIFF Coach Educators –Savio Medeira, Shakti Chauhan, and Mariano Dias, along with other coach educators like Pradyum Reddy, Caetano Pinho, Jeddy Almeida, Richard Hood, Shekhar Kerkar, Sajid Dar, Bijish Ben, Uttam Negi, John Raj, Thomas C, Thulasi P, Dinesh Nair, and Gumpe Rime.
It stated that the course aimed ‘to train coaches and develop their basic techniques and skills in football as it is designed to educate coaches, to plan, organise, and deliver training sessions’. Such training is need of the hour as Manipur alone contributes six players in the national senior football team which finished third in the standings with seven points from eight matches in the concluded FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 joint qualifier at Doha (Qatar).
