Dimapur, Jan. 11 (EMN): All India Congress Committee (AICC) delegation led by Mukul Wasnik, MP and AICC senior observer for Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura, held discussion with NPCC president, K Therie, and NPCC working president, Bobby Panicker, on Wednesday.

The AICC delegation included Mohan Prakash, chairman of AICC screening committee for Nagaland; Francisco Sardinha, MP and AICC observer; Dr. K Jayakumar, MP and AICC observer; Sanjay Dutt, member of AICC screening committee; and Ranajit Mukherjee, AICC secretary in-charge of Nagaland and Sikkim, an update from NPCC communication department stated.

It stated that discussions were held on the probability of elections being announced or the imposition of President’s Rule in the state. The members have discussed on the mood of the people in the state and prospects of the upcoming elections.

Sharing on the mood of the people basing on ground reality, Therie stated that the people in Nagaland are not in the mood for election. Stating that voters want implementation of the agreed political solutions, he however stated that if BJP and NDPP want to go against the wishes of the people and have elections, then the state Congress is prepared to fight all out.

Noting that CBSE examination routine starts from February 15, the NPCC leader was of the opinion that if elections are announced, the Election Commission may have to complete the election process before February 15, leaving hardly 35 days.

Therefore, irrespective of whether elections are announced or PR imposed, he stated the Congress has decided to prepare to meet the challenges.

Report also stated that the NPCC leaders have discussed on the formation of secular front with like-minded parties and, if not, the Congress would fight all the 60 assembly constituencies.

Meanwhile, the delegation has assured full support to the state Congress if elections are announced to fight and dethrone the 20-years misrule of BJP alliance with regional parties.

The members also discussed on the possibility of AICC president, Mallikarjun Kharge; Rahul Gandhi; AICC general secretary, Priyanka Gandhi; and Shashi Tharoor, MP, as star campaigners in the event elections are announced.
