Agriculture department conducts training for officers

Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): Agriculture department has conducted two-day state-level training on office management for officers and ministerial staff in its directorate conference hall on May 15 and 16.

C Peter Yanthan, Additional Director of Agriculture and moderator of the training, welcomed all participants from the districts, sub-divisions, research stations, training institutes in the State.

Director of Agriculture M Ben Yanthan, in his introductory speech, stated that the training was initiated for the first time in the department. He added that office maintenance and other managements was a long felt need particularly for serving officers and staff.

The Director encouraged the participants to be dedicated and attentive during the training and clear all their doubts so that they may go back to their respective work place with confidence and efficiently execute the work and duty. He also exhorted the officers to maintain proper etiquette in the work place and show politeness and respect while dealing with farmers and colleagues in order to maintain the good image of the department.

Topics such as office procedures, maintenance of files including noting, drafting etc., receipt and dispatch, letter writing, different types of dak, service matters, office management, Conduct Rules 1968, leave rules, establishment/ administrative matters etc., budget allotment/ monthly expenditure statement, reconciliation, MR bill, accounts matter, pay bill preparation, cash book maintenance, less drawn arrear bill preparation etc., new pension scheme (NPS), banking, insurance, mutual funds, NPS etc, service book maintenance, determining of date of birth, merit cum seniority, and maintenance of APAR, pension & GPF, fixation of initial pay statement (IPS), pay fixation, annual increment etc., right to information (RTI), personal information management system (PIMS) were covered during the two-day training.

Altogether, 150 members attended the training.
