Dimapur, Jan. 16 (EMN): Power department, H Tovihoto Ayemi, said Naga people can achieve anything they cherish and desire through unity and positive mindset, and by living together as one people.
Tovihoto was speaking as special guest at the inaugural function of Walford Area Council hall, Dimapur, on Monday. Walford Area consists of five different Naga colonies inhabited by different Naga tribes and non Naga communities, an update stated.
He lauded the spirit of the leaders and public of five colonies for having one common council and said such unity and understanding among the residents is exemplary and prerequisite for betterment of society.
Stating that initiatives of different types and levels can be taken but things will not materialise when there is no commitment, the Power advisor lauded the joint effort of people of Walford area and their support and cooperation, which has led to timely completion of the building.
Tovihoto said such eagerness from public and community leaders is vital in implementing developmental activities.
He said Naga society comprises of many tribes and communities but they have lived together for ages and, “as vibrant society we must continue to live together and progress accordingly.”
He also stressed on the need to strengthen the women and youth organisations by giving them more opportunities to discharge their due share of responsibilities for the welfare of the society.
