Accident claims life of one in Chümoukedima

DIMAPUR — One person died in a tragic accident on Saturday when a truck ran over the victim at 6th Mile in Chümoukedima.

While speaking to a traffic police officer, Eastern Mirror was informed that the accident occurred around 6 pm on NH 29 as the truck was travelling towards Kohima.

The victim died at the scene, and it was reported that the deceased was an auto-rickshaw driver, aged about 40 years.

While the truck has been confiscated by the police, the driver is still absconding at the time of filing this report.
