He added that despite Nagaland attaining statehood in 1963, the second oldest state in the Northeast, yet the state could not perform satisfactorily in the welfare and public utility services till date.

He added that the road communication, which is the lifeline of people for all walks of life, is in pathetic condition.

He went on to allege that the public works undertaken in the state could not come to logical conclusion in the time due to misuse of funds. To substantiate his claim, he has cited instances on the construction of State High Court, construction of State Stadium in Dimapur, construction of Cricket Stadium in Sovima, construction of Medical College, construction of roads in the state.

He also alleged that funds which were sanctioned for the welfare and development of the state are being siphoned off thereby depriving the citizens of the state of their privileges. He added that the different essential utility services undertaken by various departments, which are meant to be enjoyed by citizens, do not reach the public but are siphoned off and disappeared into thin air except on paper.

He has attributed rampant corruption prevailing in the state for depriving the youth of the state both qualified and non-qualified from employment opportunities leading them to migrate to other states in search of employment.

In order to have check and balance of all those irregularities, Pius further suggested accountability to fix the guilty to bring about equality and rule of law.
