Speaking to Eastern Mirror, Director of Dimapur airport, Mughavi Zhimo said that it was the second phase of donation initiated by the Dimapur airport under AAI, the first being a donation of INR 10 lakh to the deputy commissioner of Dimapur in March.

“We targeted six villages today (May 11), namely Darogapathar village, Hollohon village, Kirha village, Diphupar, Aoyimti and Chekiye village,” informed Zhimo, adding that the rice was purchased on May 8 and given to the village councils, after which distribution was made on Monday.

He further informed that rice was also distributed to orphanages and to migrant manual workers around the airport.

It was also informed that the handing over of a toilet block to Kirha village constructed by AAI under corporate social responsibility scheme was initiated on Monday.

Zhimo appreciated Sanjeev Jindal, regional executive director AAI, NER Guwahati under whose “able initiative and approval,” help could be extended to the needy.
