PHED organises drawing competition, cleanliness drives

DIMAPUR — As part of the ongoing nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2024 campaign, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Rural Division Dimapur, initiated several activities to promote cleanliness and community engagement.

On September 27, the department organised an SBM drawing competition at Government High School (GHS) Kuhuboto themed “Clean Niuland of my dreams,” according to an update.

The first prize was awarded to Pulo (Class 10), the second to Aniket (Class 10), and the third to Zajamo (Class 8).

The students were also administered the Swachhata pledge by the head teacher of GHS Kuhuboto, followed by a short talk on “Swachhata” delivered by Linoka Zhimomi, IEC consultant, rural division Dimapur.

A cleanliness and plantation drive was also conducted at the Kuhuboto market area, designated as one of the cleanliness target units (CTUs) under rural division Dimapur. The drive saw participation from local bodies, youth, and business establishments.

Similar drives were conducted on September 28 at Darogapathar and Thilixu villages under the PHED Urban Division.
