Advisor Imchen’s allegations ‘factually incorrect’— Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has dismissed the allegations levelled against the Congress party by Advisor of Information and Public Relations, Imkong L Imchen in regard to the cow slaughter ban promotion rally, which was earlier proposed to be held on September 28 in Kohima.

In a press release issued on Sunday, the NPCC termed Imchen’s allegation that the Congress party did not condemn the proposed programme as “baseless” and “factually incorrect.”

The NPCC pointed out that it had earlier “strongly and unequivocally denounced” the proposed ‘Gau Dhwaj Sthapana Bharat Yatra’ through a press statement issued on September 10.

“Our official stance on the issue is clearly spelt out for all to see in the public domain, and would have done some service to our Hon’ble Advisor if he had only cared enough to choose facts over fantasy,” the NPCC said.

The NPCC went on to state that there is not a shred of merit in responding to the rest of his “unsubstantiated tirade of allegations” against the party.

“We are ever ready to engage in any discourse in the interest of the great people of this nation, provided it comes from a place of evidence and facts, not some baseless dungeons and dragons fairytale story conjured out of thin air and being masqueraded as legitimate points of discussion,” it maintained.

“Lastly, we once again vehemently condemn the proposed Gau Dhwaj and consider it as an assault on the diverse and secular spirit enshrined in our Constitution and reassert our commitment to continue the fight against such divisive agenda,” it added.
