Yellow

Released in 2000 on Coldplay’s debut album Parachutes, “Yellow” has over 2.6 million streams on Spotify. The song became a breakthrough hit internationally, thanks to radio play and features in TV shows and movies. It has been covered by various artistes and remains to be one of the band’s most iconic tracks.

Viva La Vida

The title translates from Spanish as “Long Live Life”. The lyrics reference historical and Christian themes, including King Louis XVI and the French Revolution. “Viva La Vida” topped the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100, marking the band’s first number-one single in both the U.S. and the U.K. It won the Grammy Award for Song of the Year at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards in 2009.

A Sky Full of Stars

Within 24 hours of its release on iTunes, “A Sky Full of Stars” sold over 1 lakh units worldwide, reaching number one in 86 countries on the iTunes Store Charts. The band co-wrote and co-produced the song with Avicii, the renowned Swedish DJ and producer. Its lively beats are sure to get you moving.

The Scientist

“The Scientist” is centered around a poignant piano melody, conveying a man’s yearning for love and an apology. Released in the U.K. in 2002, the music video won three MTV Video Music Awards for its innovative reverse narrative. Fans will find a deep connection with its heartfelt lyrics.

Fix You

Written by all four band members for their third studio album X&Y (2005), “Fix You” was released in 2005, as the album’s second single, reaching number four on the U.K. Singles Chart. The song offers a reflective meditation on grief, particularly in the face of losing a loved one. Death is inevitable, and this song unites listeners in a shared understanding of its themes through the lyrics.
